Making a Sporting Difference: Celebrating Achievements

From Football to Track and Field

We sponsor the CUC Primary Football League (PFL) and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL) to promote academic excellence through sports. In addition, our support for athletics spans decades, nurturing the talents of Cayman’s track stars.

CUC’s History & Dedication:
Empowering Generations

Since 1969, the CUC team has been dedicated to being a model corporate citizen and giving back to our community. Our Company has supported programs and initiatives that allow our community and especially our youth, to thrive.

EDUCATION & GROWTH

Empowering Education: Lighting Up Minds

  • Scholarships

CUC periodically grants scholarships for Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Technician programmes, supporting four-year or two-year courses leading to degrees or diplomas in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Technology. These scholarships are applicable at universities or technology/technician institutes in the Caribbean, United States, or Canada.

Scholarships are also available for both A-Levels and Undergraduate degrees.

In the past, the Company has awarded several scholarships to Caymanians in various fields, including but not limited to Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and Sustainability.

In 2021, CUC awarded its inaugural scholarship in the Sustainability field to a student pursuing urban sustainability. This programme focuses on revitalising and transitioning urban areas to enhance livability, foster innovation, and mitigate environmental impact, all while maximising economic and social co-benefits.

  • Reading Day and the annual Reading Week are more than events for us; they are opportunities to promote literacy in our schools. We donate used computers, offer career insights, and educate students on the production and safe use of electricity.

  • Through Career Days and Safety Days, in partnership with the Marvellous Mangroves Education Programme, we equip young minds with the knowledge to stay safe and conserve energy.

Giving Back to Our Community

A Brighter Future, Together

Our commitment to the community is not just a corporate target; it is the essence of who we are. By fostering employee voluntarism and supporting youth-related activities, we are lighting the way for Cayman’s future.

Community Involvement: A Heartfelt Commitment

Committed to Cayman’s Youth: Our Community Involvement Team, established in 1997, spearheads employee participation in outreach projects. From mentoring in the Cadet Corps to supporting the Big Brothers Big Sisters Programme, our employees invest their time, energy, and expertise in shaping the next generation.

CUC Children’s Fund

In 2000, our employees established the CUC Children’s Fund. This fund empowers employees to contribute annually to organisations dedicated to our young people’s needs. From supporting primary schools to the Lighthouse School, we are committed to making a lasting difference in their lives.
